Direct File

NC Direct File will be available for qualifying NC taxpayers for the 2025 tax filing season. 

• Direct File is a free, online tax filing tool directly through the IRS
• Once a taxpayer files their federal return through IRS Direct File, they may have the option to file their NC tax return
