Important Notice: Additional 1% State Sales and Use Tax Rate Increase Issues

This document serves as notice that the 2009 North Carolina General Assembly has enacted Session Law 2009-451 that provides for a temporary increase in the State sales and use tax rate from 4.5% to 5.5% effective September 1, 2009. This notice includes scenarios that apply to transactions occurring prior to October 1, 2009.
