Accessibility Committee
The purpose of the agency’s Accessibility Committee is to ensure that everyone at NCDOR understands and values the concepts of accessibility for staff; engagement with a wide array of stakeholder groups and communities; and promotion of content and programs that reflect our state’s population.
To accomplish our mission, the committee:
- Identifies areas where sound practices are already in place, as well as aspects that need improvement, and recommends measures to address those issues;
- Supports the department’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program and seeks to ensure that all employees are valued, respected, and treated fairly;
- Sets priorities and provides guidance in the design and implementation of activities and resources to help employees gain the skills necessary to meet the needs of and reflect the communities they serve;
- Ensures that the NCDOR’s strategic priorities guide our actions and decisions regarding accessibility.
Additionally, the committee assists in the development of programs, communication, training, activities, policies, and guidelines that support the department’s commitment to accessibility. These efforts help ensure that we provide a climate and culture that fosters, promotes, and encourages social interactions that support, appreciate, and celebrate our differences.
